Radboud University Medical Centre (Radboudumc) is a broad, internationally-oriented university, combining excellent education (20,000 students) with leading-edge research. The Radboudumc is one of the largest academic medical centres in the Netherlands, with approximately 11,100 employees and 609 hospital beds. It functions as the medical faculty of the Radboud University. The Radboudumc aims to have a significant impact on healthcare by providing excellent quality of care and research with a focus on participatory and personalised healthcare. The participating department of the Radboudumc in the project is part of the Radboud Institute for Health Sciences (RIHS). RIHS is a research institute at the cutting edge of clinical and healthcare science that aims to innovate and personalise healthcare and public health. 
The Chair for Quality and Safety of Oral Healthcare at Radboud University Medical Centre, headed by Professor Stefan Listl, is an internationally highly reputed academic institution with unique expertise at the intersect of quality improvement, health economics, and implementation science. The group’s research activities comprise both quantitative and qualitative research methods and are primarily focused on: 

  • Quality improvement science: development of quality indicators and design of interactive feedback systems to foster reflective learning within care teams and health policy.

  • Health economics: health economic evaluation, health financing & health investment simulations, planning of human resources based on population health needs, and design of financial incentives 

  • Big data analytics, including causal inference using quasi-experimental methods. 

  • Digital tools to enhance patient empowerment and medical-dental integration. 

  • Knowledge transfer: evidence-informed practice and policy through comprehensive stakeholder engagement
