Foundation Lygature is a not-for-profit organization that drives medical innovations to address unmet medical needs worldwide. Current challenges in health care require collaboration across disciplines and stakeholder groups. With over 50 colleagues and 15+ years of experience, we provide partnership management for public-private partnerships that bring together academia, industry, health foundations and patients.
Within Lygature, the team from the Health Law, Privacy & Ethics (HPE) portfolio has extensive experience on legal and ethical issues concerning data protection, health laws, research integrity, quality assurance, regulatory and healthcare. The services of the HPE portfolio include advice on and implementation of infrastructures and governance, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA’s) and ethical aspects of data processing as well as on health law including regulatory aspects related to healthcare, products and research.
Lygature is based in Utrecht (The Netherlands) with a global reach.

Meet the Team
Olenka Van Ardenne
Olenka has extensive experience in the public and private healthcare sector (including healthcare technology, diagnostics and medicinal products, healthcare professional legislation and healthcare financing). She developed specialized knowledge of health law, privacy regulations as well as the legal framework for medicinal products, diagnostics and medical technology. She has also served as attorney at law, court member, member of supervisory boards and as project lead. She published several articles and chapters on financial law and health law. Her present position is Portfolio Lead Health law, Privacy and Ethics at Foundation Lygature.
